Dodijeljene nagrade Grammy: Beyonce ispisala povijest, Taylor Swift ima album godine, Cardi B i Megan Thee Stallion izvele WAP

Dodjela nagrade Grammy sinoć se u Los Angelesu održala u posebnom obliku; uz posebne mjere, ceremonija je održana uživo uz mnogobrojne zanimljivosti i iznenađenja.
Beyonce je ušla u povijest kao izvođačica s najvećim brojem osvojenih kipića, ukupno 28. Ove je godine osvojila nagradu u kategorijama najbolje izvedbe r'n'b glazbe (za "Black Parade), najbolje rap pjesme, najbolje izvedbe rap glazbe (za "Savage Remix" i najbolje video ostvarenje (za "Brown Skin Girl"). U kategoriji najboljeg video ostvarenja uz Beyonce bila je nominirana i njena kći Blue Ivy koja je tako postala druga najmlađa izvođačica koja je osvojila Grammy. Rekord u ovoj kategoriji još uvijek drži Leah Peasall, koja je 2002. sa samo 8 godina osvojila Grammy u kategoriji albuma godine za soundtrack "O Brother, Where Art Thou".
Megan Thee Stallion osvojila je nagradu u kategoriji najboljeg novog izvođača, uz najbolju izvedbu rap glazbe i najbolju rap pjesmu (za "Savage Remix").
Drugu godinu za redom Billie Eilish odnijela je pobjedu u kategoriji snimke godine za "Everything I Wanted". Taylor Swift ima album godine ("folklore"), što je njena treća pobjeda u ovoj kategoriji. Album Fione Apple "Fetch the Bolt Cutters" proglašen je najboljim albumom alternativne glazbe, a nagradu je osvojila i u kategoriji najbolje izvedbe rock glazbe (za "Shameika").
The Strokes osvojili su prvi Grammy i to u kategoriji najboljeg albuma rock glazbe ("The New Abnormal") dok je prvi put ovu nagradu osvojio i Nas u kategoriji najboljeg albuma rap glazbe ("King's Disease").
Lady Gaga i Ariana Grande za "Rain on Me" dobile su nagradu u kategoriji najbolja duo/grupna izvedba pop glazbe.
Kanye West dobio je Grammy za najbolji album suvremene kršćanske glazbe ("Jesus Is King"), no, očekivano, nije prisustvovao dodjeli nagrada.
"Desert Sessions Vols. 11&12" Josha Hommea osvojio je Grammy u kategoriji najboljeg izdanja dok je "Ode to Joy" grupe Wilco osvojio nagradu u kategoriji najboljeg posebnog ili box-set izdanja.
Pjesmom godine proglašena je "I Can't Breathe" u izvedbi H.E.R. dok je najbolji album vokalne pop glazbe "Future Nostalgia" Dua Lipe.
Najbolja izvedba metal glazbe je "Bum-Rush" grupe Body Count dok je najboljom pjesmom za vizualne medije proglašena "No Time to Die" Billie Eilish.
Ceremonija dodjele obilovala je zanimljivim nastupima uživo, a posebno se istaknuo onaj Taylor Swift, Brune Marsa i Anderson .PAAK-a, BTS, Billie Eilish, Due Lipe dok su najviše pažnje privukle Megan Thee Stallion i Cardi B koje su prvi put na televiziji izvele hit "WAP".
